Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

ShopPing ("the App," "we," "us") is developed by Natalia Gurevich. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App interacts with and how it's used. We've written it in plain language wherever possible.

1 Information we collect

The App works without any account or sign-up. The following is created and stored only on your device, in the App's local storage:

• The store chains you select.
• Your shopping list items — names, checked/unchecked status, notes, and any photos or product links you add.
• Store locations you choose — a specific branch of a chain, the nearby branches used for "any location" alerts, or a pin you place on the map for a store of your own.
• Your chosen alert-distance settings, both the overall default and any per-store overrides.
• The language you pick for the App, if you choose one other than your device's.

The App also reads your device's language and region settings, to decide which language to show and which country's shops to suggest. That happens on your device and is not sent anywhere.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other account information — the App has no accounts to collect them for.

2 Location data

With your permission, the App uses your device's location to calculate the distance between you and stores you've saved, so it can show a local notification when you're nearby. This calculation happens entirely on your device. Your location is never sent to us or stored on any server we control.

Two map lookups need the network, and they are the only ways a location leaves your device:

• Finding stores. To find real store locations near you, the App sends the coordinates you provide (your current location or a map pin), together with the store name you're searching for, to Apple's Maps service.
• Naming a pin. When you place a pin for a store of your own, the pin's coordinates are sent to the same Apple service to look up its street address.

Both go directly to Apple, not to us. We don't receive them, keep them, or use them for advertising or analytics; Apple's own privacy policy covers how it handles such requests.

To be allowed to query Apple's Maps service, the App first fetches a short-lived access token from a small service we run for that one purpose. That request carries no location, no list data, and nothing that identifies you. Like any web request it unavoidably reveals an IP address to the host; we don't record it.

You can revoke location permission at any time in your device's Settings. The nearby-store notification feature will stop working, but the rest of the App will continue to work normally.

3 Camera & photos

If you attach a photo to a shopping list item, the App will ask for access to your camera or photo library. Photos you select are stored locally as part of your shopping list data. We never upload, view, or have access to these photos.

4 Data storage & security

All App data lives locally on your device using standard app storage. It isn't protected by a separate password, so anyone with access to your unlocked device could view it — we recommend relying on your device's own screen lock.

Because we keep no copy of your data on any server, there is no copy of it anywhere else, which also means we cannot recover it if you lose your device, uninstall the App, or clear its storage.

5 Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any advertiser or analytics provider, and the App contains no advertising or analytics services. Apart from the map lookups in section 2, the App uses the network in only two situations:

Purchases. The free trial and the one-time unlock are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, and we don't receive your name or Apple Account. The App only learns from Apple whether the unlock has been purchased.

Sending a list to someone. If you choose to send a list, the App turns the items still to buy on that list — item names, any product links you added, and the store's name, but never photos — into a link and hands it to your device's share sheet. You decide who receives it and which app carries it. The list travels inside the link itself, in the part after the "#", which browsers do not transmit to web servers: the page on shopping.nghive.app that opens the link displays the list using only the recipient's browser, so we never receive it. Anyone who has the link can read that list, and whichever messaging service you use handles it under its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it.

If you tap a product link you've added to an item, you'll leave the App and open that page in your browser; that site's own privacy practices apply, not ours.

6 Your choices

Because everything is stored locally, you're always in full control:

• Delete individual items or stores at any time within the App.
• Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all of its data from your device (subject to your device's own backup behavior, such as iCloud or Google device backups, which we don't control).
• Revoke location, camera, or notification permissions at any time in your device's system Settings.

7 Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children — nor from anyone, since everything stays on-device. The App is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older.

8 Future changes to how data is handled

If we add features that require a server, an account, or data leaving your device — for example, syncing your list across your own devices — we will update this Privacy Policy first and clearly describe what changes and what choices you have.

9 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Natalia Gurevich ("we," "us," "our") governing your use of the ShopPing mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms — if you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1 Acceptance of terms

You must be at least 13 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live, to use the App. By using it, you confirm you meet this requirement.

2 License, free trial & purchase

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

The App is free to download and fully usable for a 14-day trial. After the trial, continuing to use it requires a single one-time purchase made through Apple's App Store. It is not a subscription: there are no recurring charges, and the purchase unlocks the App for your Apple Account, including on your other devices, where it can be restored at no extra cost. The price is shown in the App before you buy and may differ by country and currency.

Payments, refunds, and billing questions are handled by Apple under its own terms — we never process payments ourselves and cannot issue refunds directly.

3 What the app does — and doesn't — guarantee

The App helps you keep shopping lists and can notify you when you're near a store you've saved. Please keep in mind:

• Store names and categories are a general reference list and may not reflect real-time hours, inventory, prices, or exact locations.
• Location-based notifications depend on your device's GPS accuracy, battery and power settings, OS permissions, and connectivity, and may be delayed, inaccurate, or may not arrive at all.
• A list you send to someone is delivered by whichever messaging service you choose. We can't guarantee it arrives, and can't keep it private once it has left your device.
• Do not rely on the App for time-critical, safety-critical, medical, or financial decisions.

5 Limitation of liability

Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

6 Assumption of risk

You use the App at your own risk. You're solely responsible for independently verifying any store information — hours, location, availability — before relying on it, and for using the App safely, including never interacting with your phone while driving or in any situation requiring your full attention.

7 Third-party links & content

Items in your list may include links you add to third-party websites, such as a product page. These are provided for convenience only — we don't control, endorse, or take responsibility for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site.

8 Your content

Any content you create in the App — item names, notes, photos — remains yours. Since it's stored only on your device and never transmitted to us, we claim no rights to it. If you send a list to someone, what you send and whom you send it to are your responsibility.

9 Intellectual property

The App's name, logo, design, and underlying software belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. These Terms don't grant you rights to our trademarks or branding beyond what's needed to use the App normally.

10 Termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App, or your access to it, at any time, with or without notice. These Terms remain in effect until terminated by either party; you may stop using the App and delete it whenever you like.

11 Apple App Store additional terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you additionally acknowledge that:

• These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple — Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
• If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding the App.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product-liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer-protection claims.
• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

12 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

13 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

14 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full force and effect.
